Technical confidence while grading

See technical problems before they reach the export

A film look still needs objective checks. Controls & Views provides a compact set of diagnostic overlays and one render-quality switch inside MacunFilm, so exposure and color problems can be inspected without rebuilding the node or changing the creative controls.

What this tool changes

False Color

Translate luminance regions into a diagnostic view for fast exposure assessment across shadows, skin, midtones and highlights.

Highlight Clipping

Reveal pixels approaching or exceeding the output ceiling so compression and exposure can be adjusted before detail is lost in delivery.

Gamut Warning

Identify color that falls outside the intended output gamut instead of relying on a display preview alone.

Full Quality Rendering

Choose the complete processing path for final judgement, with a faster preview option available when interaction speed matters.

DaVinci Resolve workflow

A practical way to use it

  1. Set the correct input and output profiles before reading any diagnostic view.
  2. Enable one view at a time and use it to answer a specific exposure or gamut question.
  3. Return to the normal image before making the final aesthetic judgement.
  4. Enable Full Quality Rendering for final review and delivery checks.

What to avoid

Diagnostic colors are not part of the creative image and should never remain enabled for export. A warning also identifies a technical condition, not an automatic error: the intended look and delivery specification still determine the correction.
